Walking your own path
I’m learning every step I take on my own path is not scary, feels really good and the results are unimaginable. But what does it mean to walk your own path? Do you have to have a person in your ear telling you what to do in order to make a contradictory move? Do you have to have someone shit on your dreams in order to make them a reality?
Perhaps walking your own path means listening to yourself on the very things you want to pursue. Want to be an underwater basket weaver? Do it. Want to quit everything you know and try something crazy like move to Tanzania? Do it. I’ve always taken solace in knowing I can try these crazy things and if it doesn’t work out (cuz sometimes it doesn’t) I can always go back to doing the same mundane thing I left in the first place.
I challenge you to listen to yourself. No seriously, just sit in silence for 2 minutes and ask yourself, “what do I REALLY want.” Often times we think we want cheap thrills and temporary fixes and while those modes of wants have their place - that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the wants that make you nervous, that will push you out of your comfort zone. 🚨 GET UNCOMFORTABLE - IT‘S PART OF THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE 🚨
Of All Trades,
